              A reménységem horgonya:
Úr Jézusom és szent szava;
E földi test oly ingatag,
De Krisztus, Ő, szilárd alap.

  A biztos szikla: Krisztusom,
  Rá építek, nem homokon,
  Rá építek, nem homokon.

Ha arcát felhő rejti el,
Ő betakar kegyelmével;
Ha vihar tombol, zúg az ár,
A horgonyom szilárdan áll.

Szent eskü, vér és szövetség:
Megtart, ha hull a tűz és jég;
Bár ezrek esnek el körül,
Én Benne bízom egyedül.

Ha trombitája felharsan,
Majd Őbenne találtassam;
Ő igazságom, életem,
És győzedelmes énekem!
