Ako ulovené vtáča v ruke diablovej som lkal,
denne zotročený vôľou jeho zlou.
V Pánu Ježišovi teraz život slobodný už mám,
klietku otvoril mi rukou všemocnou.

Musím spievať ako vtáča pieseň novej radosti:
Haleluja! Navždy som voľný s Ním.
Túžim uväzneným sveta hlásať vykúpenia zvesť,
čo v Ňom mám, to všade niesť.

Ako poviazané vtáča v moci diablovej som dlel,
hriechom ruky, nohy spútané vždy mal.
Keď to Spasiteľ môj videl,
trpieť na kríž vďačne šiel,
smrťou, víťazstvom mi putá rozviazal.
