              Följebb minden hatalomnál,
följebb minden teremtett dolognál,
bölcsességnél és emberi tudásnál,
Te előbb léteztél a világnál.

Följebb minden királyságnál,
följebb minden drága ragyogásnál,
gazdagságnál és földi kincseknél,
a Te értéked nagyobb mindennél.

  Szenvedtél fönn, a keresztfán,
  azért éltél, hogy értem meghaljál.
  Mint rózsaszál a sárba taposva,
  Te bűnhődtél helyettem, ó, Uram!
