              Hoor die blye eng'lelied
Aan die Koningseun gebied:
"Vrede op aarde - God die eer -
Hy daal tot die sondaar neer."

  Almal wat Hom liefhet, sing
Om Hom lof en dank te bring!
Almal, juig met hart en stem:
  God word mens in Bethlehem
  Hoor die blye eng'lelied
  Aan die Koningseun gebied.

Christus, ewig God en Heer,
Christus daar omhoog vereer,
In die volheid van die tyd
Word Hy mens, in nedrigheid

  Sondelose Lam van God
Kom aanvaar die mens se lot -
  Hy, met mense saamgetel,
  Ware God - Immanuel!
Ook die aarde bring Hom eer -
  Christus ewig God en Heer!

Jesus, ware Vredevors
kom vir Hom 'n volk verlos
Wêreldwyd, in elke land
kom bevryding deur sy hand.

In ons nood het Hy gedaal,
  vir ons lewe duur betaal.
  Vrygemaak, deur Hom gevind,
  is ek ook nou koningskind!
  Almal deur sy koms verlos,
  dank en loof die Vredevors!
