                // İnanırım, inanırım!
  Ya Rab, artır imanımı ki
  Sarsılsın dağlar!
  İnanırım,
  Şüphelerim kayboldular! //

Elem ve keder sarsa her taraftan,
Şeytan fısıldar: "Geri dön bu yoldan!"
Gelse başıma o siyah bulutlar,
// Biraz imanla dağılıp, nur parlar. //

Sakin denizde yolculuğa gitmek
Kolaydır tabii, Rab'be güvenerek.
Fakat dalgalar saldırsa kayığa,
// Pek az bir iman bırakmaz batmaya. //
