              Jak zdĺhavo sa tiahli dni
a obzor zdal sa nekonečný,
len z diaľky bolo po-čuť hlas,
šíril sa zvesťou plnou krás:

  Ó, myslite na Kanaán,
  kto ste cestou unavení,
  ó, myslite na Ka-naán,
  zem to krásnych nádejí.

Tam pálil v púšti slnka jas,
ľud kričal k Bohu: prečože zas?
A miesto spánku v noci mráz.
A ráno niekto spieval zas:

Tak národ prešiel pustinu
a našiel svoju domovinu.
Krik s jasotom sa rozliehal,
hlas Moj-žišov v ňom zanikal.
