Jesus, er det beste navn av alle,
skjønnest navn på jord man nevne kan.
Milde Jesus! Dyre Jesus!
Som musikk det lyder over land.

  Kor:
Å hvor kjært et navn, å så søtt et navn,
det kan bryte syndens hårde bånd.
  Milde Jesus! Dyre Jesus!
  Dette navn antenner Livets Ånd.

Intet navn har kraft som navnet Jesus,
alle andre havn må dø en gang.
Milde Jesus! Dyre Jesus!
Engler bar det hit i ord og sang.

Å så rikt et navn er navnet Jesus,
det oppfyller hele him'lens hall.
Milde Jesus! Dyre Jesus!
Deg skal klinge over fjell og dal.

Jeg kan aldri glemme navnet Jesus,
det har fylt mitt liv med him'len her.
Milde Jesus! Dyre Jesus!
Tenk når jeg Han skuer over der.
