Jozef a Mária k Betlému kráčajú,
čoskoro noc bude, nocľah však nemajú.
Tu je dom, možno že vpustia nás do dverí.
Klopú a čakajú: Ktože im otvorí?

Niekto už otvára: Choďte preč - kričí pán.
Nemáme miesta dosť, sotva sa vyspím sám!
Ďalej zas putujú inde sa opýtať.
Nikde ich nevzali, v chlieve len budú spať.

V tom chlieve na sene Vianoce začali,
Kristus sa narodil, spievajte Mu chvály.
V tom chlieve na sene Vianoce začali,
Kristus sa narodil! Spievajte Mu chvály!
