                Előjáték:
  //  //

Már hó szitál a fenyvesek között
és korán beálló esték fénye ég,
oly mély csend s én úgy készülődöm
ujjongó szívvel Istenem, feléd.

Most én megyek, Te jártál már a földön.
Ó, hány karácsonyt játszottam neked!
Amim csak volt, a két kezedbe tettem:
egymás után: egy hosszú életet.

Mondd, vársz reám? Olyan remegve kérdem
s oly boldogan, mint szentestén kölyök.
Most rajtad áll, hogy szívemet betöltsed.
Csitt! Angyal jár a zárt ajtók mögött.
