              Lihatlah Anak insan berjubahkan kain ungu.
DikepalaNya dikenakan mahkota berduri.
Menetes peluh dan darah mengucur basahi bumi,
serasa lutut tak mampu menolong tubuh lagi.

Bertubi cambuk, tombak melayang menghujam tubuh.
bertaburan ludah hinaan dan tawa ejekan.
Betapa bunda Maria tersungkur menahan duka;
semua kekasih Yesus menangis tersedu.

Betapa tak terlintas diakal, dilubuk hati.
bahwa Yesus harus dihina dan mati disalib.
O Yesus, tolonglah kami, kuatkanlah iman kami,
supaya kami fahami tujuan sengsaraMu.
