              Oi ihmeellinen rakkaus:
Jumalan Poika uhrataan!
Hän, itse taivaan valkeus,
käy rangaistuna
kuolemaan.
Hän maksoi syntivelkani,
sen kuolemallaan sovitti.

Oi, nähkää:
Seppel piikkinen
on päässä
Rauhanruhtinaan.
Ristille katso, ihminen:
Karitsa pyhä surmataan.
Oi, älä enää syntiin jää!
Kristuksen risti
muista tää.

Hän meidät
kaikki lunastaa,
kun kuolee
ristinkuoleman.
Tää sana varma uskokaa:
Hän osti joka ainoan.
Kaikille rauhan antaen
Hän kuolee
tähden syntisten.
