              1. Oi ihminen, mieleesi paina:
ei onnea maailma suo.
Ei kestä, ei säily se aina,
se tuskia, huolia tuo.
Siis maailman murhe nyt heitä
ja pakene turhuuden teitä,
käy uskossa Herrasi luo.

2. Vai Luojaanko turvata voisit
ja palvella mammonaa maan?
Jos toiselle sydämen soisit,
et toista voi seuratakaan.
Oi ihminen, valitse parhain,
tuo sielusi Herralle varhain
se Hänelle tuo kokonaan.

3. Tee uskossa, toivossa työtä,
ja leipäsi rauhassa syö.
Kun Herrasi armo on myötä,
niin murheetta nukkuos yö.
Kun Herralle itsesi annat ja
huolesi Hänelle kannat,
on siunattu päiväsi työ.

4. Pois maalliset surusi suista,
ne Herrasi hoitava on.
Yks vain yli kaiken sä muista:
sun sielusi kuolematon.
Siis käy valtakuntahan Herran,
niin muutkin Hän lahjansa kerran
myös sinulle antava on.
