              On Jeesus mulle rakkahin
ja kallein päällä maan,
ei kauneuttaan verrata
voi aamun purppuraan.
Ei aatokseni kuvailla
voi toista vertaistaan.
Hän suloisempi tänään on
kuin ennen milloinkaan.

  En tähtein tällä puolen
  voi puolta kuvailla,
  niin paljon ihanampi on
  Hän kerran oleva.

Mä hurmaannuin
jo loistostaan,
kun kaukaa katselin.
On kauniimpi kuin lilja Hän,
kointähti kirkkahin.
Hän Hengen janon
sammuttaa
ja täyttää tarpehen.
Hän suloisempi tänään on
kuin koskaan syömmellen.
