              Spievam pieseň vďačnej chvály,
Kristus za mňa život dal!
Prišiel z nebies večnej slávy,
na svoj kríž On hriechy vzal.

  Spievam pieseň vďačnej chvály,
  Kristus za mňa život dal!
  Chcem Ho sláviť so svätými
  na večnosti hymnou chvál!

On ma hľadal zblúdeného,
našiel ovcu stratenú,
z hriechu vyslobodil zlého,
zhojil dušu ranenú.

Aj keď často hriech ma tlačí,
kráčam žiaľu údolím,
Pán ma denne s láskou stráži,
prevedie ma úskalím.

On ma skryje v svojej dlani,
dokiaľ zúri žitia boj,
potom prijme v svoje stany,
kde je krásny domov môj.
