              Terpancang salib di bukit gersang,
pertanda siksa dan maut kejam.
Terpaku Kristus dikayu salib,
menanggung nista dan cela.

  Apa gerangan kesalahanNya,
  sehingga darahNya tercurah?
  Apa gerangan yang dilakukan,
  sehingga mati disalib?

KematianNya bukti kasihNya
bagi manusia yang berdosa,
dan kebangkitanNya anugerah
bagi seluruh dunia.

  Apa gerangan kesalahanNya,
  sehingga darahNya tercurah?
  Apa gerangan yang dilakukan,
  sehingga mati disalib?
