              Tulkaa kaikki,
katsokaatte
piinaa rakkaan
Herramme.
Itkekää,
valittakaatte,
kärsii Vapahtajamme.
Kellä vaiva sellainen
ollut on kuin
Jeesuksen!

Käsistänsä, jaloistansa
on Hän ristiinnaulittu,
verisessä kruunussansa
vaipuu päänsä runneltu.
Kellä vaiva sellainen
ollut on kuin
Jeesuksen!

Sappea ja etikkata
Hänen juodakseen
he toi
pilkkaa tehden
katkerata:
"Alas astukoon, jos voi!"
Kellä vaiva sellainen
ollut on kuin
Jeesuksen!

Tuskassansa kauheassa
viimein näin
Hän huudahti:
"Käsiis, Isä taivahassa,
Minä annan henkeni!"
Kellä vaiva sellainen
ollut on kuin
Jeesuksen!
