              Vie viesti riemuinen
nyt luokse ihmisten,
kun murheen vallassa
he kaipaa lohtua.
Nyt kielin tuhansin
soi viesti ihanin:
saapui Puolustaja!

  Tuo Henki helluntain,
  tuo Henki helluntain
  jo saapui päälle maan,
  toi voiman tullessaan.
  Vie viesti riemuinen
  nyt luokse ihmisten:
  saapui Puolustaja!

Yö pitkä hälveni,
ja huomen sarasti.
Jo poisti varjot maan
tuo päivä loistollaan,
ja vuorta, kukkulaa
sen hohde kirkastaa.
Saapui Puolustaja!

Oi Henki Jumalan,
suo, että julistan
mä sanaa pyhää niin,
se että sydämiin
jo tiensä löytää saa
ja Herraa kirkastaa.
Saapui Puolustaja!
