              Éjhomály és fellegek,
ködös sötétségek,
kél már fény, az ég fehér,
véget ér az éjjel.

A sarkon már hajnal remeg,
nappal jár a földön,
fény sok nyila tündököl,
az Úr jön hegyen, völgyön!

  Az éjnek réme hulljon el,
  lélek-szorongás múljon el,
  mit az éj homálya szült,
  bűn és borzalom haljon el!

Lelkünkben sápadjon el
minden bűn-homály,
felhők felszakadjanak,
hisz Isten a király.

  Az éj homálya megtörik,
  dárdáit szórja a fény,
  a tárgyak színe visszatér,
  Ő tündöklő tekintetén.
