              Bližšie vždy k Tebe len,
ó, Bože môj,
hoc by ma tlačil kríž,
unavil boj.
V najtmavších chvíľach dňa
spev srdca dvíha ma
bližšie vždy k Tebe len,
ó, Bože môj!

Na púšti života
desí ma noc,
poklesnem na kameň,
strácam už moc.
Jakobov sen mi daj,
v nebeský povznes kraj,
bližšie vždy k Tebe len,
ó, Bože môj!

Úskalím vedie ma
k Tebe môj krok,
ako sa prediera
k moru vôd tok.
Tvojej nech lásky prúd
usmerní moju púť
bližšie vždy k Tebe len,
ó, Bože môj!

Nádherný svitne deň,
koniec je tmám,
z tvrdých skál skúšok
Ti postavím chrám.
S plameňom obetí
rád môj duch zaletí
bližšie vždy k Tebe len,
ó, Bože môj!

Púť keď raz ukončím,
posledný ston
túžobne zašepká:
„Ku mne sa skloň!"
Pomôž mi v smrti dni,
k sebe ma pozdvihni,
bližšie vždy k Tebe len,
ó, Bože môj!
