              Irgalmas volt és szelíd,
Szerette ellenségeit.
Nem volt haragban senkivel,
Békében élt mindenkivel.

  A mi Urunk, a Jézus.
  A mi Urunk, a Jézus.

Türelmes volt, s jótevő,
A latrokért is szót-tevő,
Csak egy ruhája volt neki,
Saruját maga fűzte ki.

Nem volt hajléka nagyszerű,
munkás volt és egyszerű.
Szíves volt és elégedett,
a másét nem kívánta meg.

A szeretetből példát adott,
a vacsorán kenyeret s bort fogott,
És megtörtént ím a csoda,
mert önmagát adta oda.
