              Mint szarvas hűs vízforrásra,
Úgy szomjazik lelkemRád.
Vágyódom az élő Isten után,
Hogy mehessek Hozzád.

  Miért csüggedsz el, én lelkem,
  Hisz pajzsod Ő és támaszod!
Bízz az Úrban, mert karja megszabadít,
  s hálával áldozol!

Örvénylő vizek árja sodor
egyre, elfog a félelem,
Szétfoszlott a remény, de nem feledem:
hű az én Istenem!
