              Púšťou sa nesie mocný hlas:
Pokánie čiňte, tu je čas,
už ide Pán k svojmu ľudu,
pripravte Mu cestu rovnú!

Zvestoval tak Ján Krstiteľ,
za pravdu veľký horliteľ,
nad iných prorok výborný,
predchodca Kristov pokorný.

Svedectvo jasné vydal nám,
že on sám nie je Kristus Pán,
len cestu Mu pripravuje
a Jeho príchod zvestuje.

Kristus je Boží Syn pravý,
Spasiteľ duší láskavý,
ten milý Baránok tichý,
ktorý sníma sveta hriechy.

Počujme aj my Jánov hlas,
veď teraz je príhodný čas
zanechať skutky temnosti
a prijať Pána večnosti.

Príď k nám, Pane požehnaný,
láskavo nám otvor brány
do Tvojho raja večného,
veriacim pripraveného.
